Akpabio: Nigerians will separate chaff from grain in 2027 — they’ll re-elect Tinubu
Senate President Godswill Akpabio says President Bola Tinubu will be re-elected in the 2027 general election due to his administration’s achievements.
Akpabio spoke on Monday when he received members of the senate committee on tertiary institutions, TETFund and NELFund, led by Muntari Dandutse, lawmaker representing Katsina south, at his residence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
The senate president said the APC has enough achievements to present to Nigerians as the party prepares for the 2027 campaigns.
“The current president has done a lot for Nigerians. He met an economy in shambles. When he came in, 27 states could not pay salaries and pensions, but today, the story has changed because of his reengineering and thinking out of the box,” Akpabio said.
“In 2027, Nigerians will separate the chaff from the grains and re-elect President Tinubu for a second term in office. We will have something to tell Nigerians about the unprecedented achievements of Mr president at the campaign grounds.”
Akpabio criticised opposition politicians challenging Tinubu, saying they had failed to present Nigerians with convincing alternatives.
The senate president said the 10th senate has recorded “giant strides” under his leadership and would continue to collaborate with the executive to deliver its promises to Nigerians.
The legislator commended members of the committee for continuing their legislative duties during the annual recess and advised them not to be distracted by criticism on social media.
“We don’t need to listen to social media because it is garbage in, garbage out,” Akpabio said.
Akpabio urged senators who would not be returning to the 11th senate to continue working for the success of the APC and the Tinubu administration.
Only about 51 serving senators secured the APC’s tickets to contest the 2027 elections.
Akpabio said their loyalty to the party and the president would be appreciated.
In his remarks, Mohammed said the committee was in Akwa Ibom to carry out its constitutional responsibilities and pay homage to the senate president.
