Beta Glass posts N79.7bn revenue amid cost pressures

Beta Glass Plc recorded a revenue of N79.71bn in the first half of 2026, as higher sales and export demand helped offset rising logistics and input costs that weighed on margins.

The company’s unaudited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2026, showed that revenue rose by 1.9 per cent from N78.23bn recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

Second-quarter revenue increased by 13.8 per cent to N42.18bn, up from N37.07bn in the same period last year.

Profit after tax stood at N16.16bn for the first half of the year, while second-quarter profit after tax was N8.35bn. Earnings per share for the six-month period was N26.93.

Commenting on the results, the Chief Executive Officer of Beta Glass Plc, Alex Gendis, said the company’s second-quarter performance was driven by sustained demand in both domestic and export markets.

“Our 13.8 per cent revenue growth in Q2 2026 was supported by sustained customer demand both locally and from export sales.

Our underlying cost base remains well managed, but higher inbound logistics and input costs weighed on margins during Q2 2026,” he said.

Gendis said the company would continue to adjust its pricing model to reflect higher costs, expressing confidence that margins would improve in the second half of the year.

“Going forward, our dynamic pricing model will account for these factors; we expect this to progressively support margin recovery over the second half of the year.

“Our H1 2026 performance is best understood against the base effect of 2025, when several key customers frontloaded a significant share of their annual requirements early in the year, creating an unusually strong comparative base. Adjusting for this, we remain on track to meet our full-year objectives and are trading ahead of our internal targets.

“We continue to see solid demand across both our local and export markets and remain focused on delivering the highest quality glass products, operational excellence and service that our customers have come to expect from Beta Glass,” he added.
