EXTRA: Newly sworn-in Delta commissioner breaks down in tears, kneels to thank Oborevwori
Ogodo Moses, a newly appointed commissioner in Delta state, became emotional and broke down in tears after taking the oath of office before Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor, during his swearing-in ceremony.
Videos circulating on social media showed Moses kneeling before the governor moments after the oath was administered.
Oborevwori immediately asked him to rise, after which both men exchanged a handshake and embraced.
A visibly emotional Moses then walked over to his wife and hugged her.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
Moses’ appointment was announced on Friday in a statement signed by Kinsley Emu, secretary to the state government.
Brave Enodeh was also sworn in as commissioner, while Cosmas Igbenije took the oath of office as a member of the governing board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).
Oborevwori also swore in Joseph Obiananma Ojobu, James Omanudhowho Obeowou, and Fun-Ebi Edonyabo as members of the Delta State Judicial Service Commission.
The state government did not disclose the portfolios to which Moses and Enodeh were assigned.
