ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu has felicitated Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on his 61st birthday, while also celebrating his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who turned 64.
In his goodwill message, the President joined Sanwo-Olu’s family, members of the Lagos State Executive Council, political and business associates, and residents of the state in marking the governor’s birthday. Tinubu praised Sanwo-Olu’s diligence, wisdom, and outstanding service to both Lagos State and the nation.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended the governor for effectively blending his private-sector experience with public service to achieve notable milestones in governance.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu is brilliantly combining his private and public sector experiences to set new records of accomplishment in governance,” the statement quoted the President as saying.
The President also acknowledged the governor’s role in advancing the economic, infrastructural, and cultural transformation of Lagos into a vibrant and globally competitive city with increasing national and international influence.
He further applauded Sanwo-Olu for reinforcing Lagos State’s status as a centre of excellence and a welcoming home for people from diverse backgrounds.
Tinubu additionally commended the governor’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting his commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and political harmony in the state.
The President prayed for long life, good health, greater wisdom, and an enduring legacy for the governor.
Extending similar congratulations to his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, on his 64th birthday, Tinubu described him as a dedicated public servant whose leadership and commitment have greatly benefited the nation.
“As you celebrate your 64th birthday today, I deeply appreciate your loyalty, dedication, and sacrifice,” the President said.
“Throughout the years, you have demonstrated capacity for service, placing national interest above personal considerations and working tirelessly for the progress of our country.
“Your dedication to duty and ability to coordinate complex governmental processes have contributed immensely to the realisation of our Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Tinubu reflected on Gbajabiamila’s long career in public service, highlighting his contributions to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
He praised the Chief of Staff’s tenure as Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, his role in the formation of the APC, and his historic service as Speaker of the House of Representatives, which the President described as a defining period in the National Assembly’s history.
The President concluded by praying that Almighty Allah would grant Gbajabiamila good health, wisdom, strength, and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria.
