Atiku, Adeleke Affected As Court Orders INEC To Deregister ADC, Accord, Others

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove the registration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties from its list of recognised parties.

Justice Peter Lifu issued the directive on Monday while delivering judgment in a suit instituted by the National Forum of Former Legislators, with case number FHC/ABJ/CS/2637/2026.

In his ruling, the judge held that the affected political parties had consistently failed to satisfy the constitutional requirements and performance benchmarks necessary to retain their registration.

The parties impacted by the judgment include the Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Alliance (AA), Accord Party and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), alongside the ADC.
