The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps leadership in Anambra State paid a visit to the family of the late Stanley Anikpe, who tragically lost his life in a two-storey building collapse at Ekeoyibo Market, Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area. State commandant Olatunde Maku, along with senior management officials, expressed their condolences during the visit on Tuesday.
The incident occurred while Anikpe was purchasing goods in the market, resulting in his untimely demise. Additionally, three other individuals lost their lives in the same building collapse, with several others being trapped.
He mentioned that the visit was prompted by the unfortunate passing of Anikpe, who tragically lost his life in the collapse of a two-storey building being constructed at Ekeoyibo market, Amawbia, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday, 4th July 2024.
We expressed our deepest sympathies to the grieving family, and the passing is a devastating loss not just for the family but also for the NSCDC. Maku provided the family with the assurance that the Commandant-General and the Corps would guarantee that the memories of the late Anikpe would be remembered.
