French Rugby players arrested in Argentina for suspected sexual assault.
Two members of the French national rugby team who were on tour in South America were
apprehended in Argentina
on Monday after being accused of sexual assault, as confirmed by a justice official
in Mendoza province to AFP. Hugo Auradou, 20, and Oscar Jegou, 21, who participated
in France's 28-13 Test victory against Argentina on Saturday, were arrested in Buenos
Aires and will be transported to Mendoza, where the alleged crime occurred.
Martin Ahumada,
a spokesperson for the Mendoza prosecutor's office, stated that a delegation from Mendoza
is en route to Buenos Aires to bring the players back for further investigation.
If the evidence corroborates the victim's account, charges will be filed accordingly.
