A tragic boat accident in Jigawa resulted in the loss of one life, while 18 individuals were successfully rescued

At least 18 individuals were successfully rescued from a mishap involving 20 marketers on a canoe journey from Kwalgai village to Hadin in the Auyo Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The Jigawa State Police Command reported that the canoe capsized due to strong waves and overloading, making it difficult for the operator to maintain control.
Lawan Adam, the Command's spokesperson, stated in Dutse, the state capital, that divers, fishermen, and other volunteers were promptly alerted to assist in the rescue operation, while a team of police officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer, quickly responded to the scene.
