Dr. Peter Mbah,congratulated Rangers International Football Club of Enugu
Rangers International Football Club of Enugu has been congratulated
by Dr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State,
for their victory in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The team secured the title with a 2-0 win over Bendel Insurance Football Club at the Nnamdi Azikiwe
Stadium in Enugu. Kenechukwu Agu scored in the 33rd minute,
followed by Chidiebere Nwobodo in the 65th minute,
leading the team to their eighth league title and their second since 2016.
Remo Stars and Enyimba Football Club, their closest rivals,
both suffered defeats in their match-day 37 fixtures,
leaving Rangers with an unassailable 67-point lead.
Governor Mbah also acknowledged the importance of improving the sports infrastructure,
particularly the pitch at The Cathedral, which served as a motivation forthe players..
