The NNPC has announced that Nigeria is expected to become a net exporter of petroleum by December.
The Group Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited,
Mele Kyari, announced that Nigeria is expected to become a net exporter of petroleum by
December due to emerging indicators in the energy and gas sector.
Kyari disclosed this information during a meeting at the National Assembly on Monday,
attended by key stakeholders in the nation's economy, such as the Ministers of Finance,
Wale Edun; Budget and National Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; Minister of State Petroleum,
Senator Heineken Lokpobiri; and the Governor of the Central Bank, Olayemi Cardoso.
The Senate Committee on Finance, led by Senator Sani Musa (APC Niger East),
was also present at the meeting. The stakeholders
expressed confidence that the economy is on the path to recovery based on these emerging indicators.
